Great lodges are not simply places to stay. They are places that belong to the land around them.

Originally built in 1975, Riverhouse Lodge had long stood along the banks of the Deschutes River, a gathering place shaped by Bend’s spirit of exploration and the quiet beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Our work reimagined the property as a modern lodge experience rooted deeply in that landscape.

The transformation extended across the entire property. The lobby, restaurants, and guest rooms were redesigned to reflect the warmth and character of the region. Natural materials, quiet textures, and custom furnishings created spaces that feel both contemporary and enduring. Original artwork and bespoke textiles were developed specifically for the lodge, allowing the visual language of the property to echo the forests, rivers, and open skies that define Bend.

Alongside the physical redevelopment, we led the definition of the Riverhouse brand and the shaping of the guest experience. Every detail was considered as part of a larger story. One that connects architecture, art, and hospitality to the rhythm of the river just outside its doors.

Riverhouse Lodge now stands as a renewed expression of Northwest hospitality. A place where design, landscape, and human connection come together to create moments that feel both grounded and memorable.
